Text anyone on the mesh. No cell service needed.
Squatch Mesh turns your pager into a standalone off-grid messenger: channels, direct messages, maps and repeater tools, right on the device. No phone, no internet, no subscription.
- Free & open source (GPL-3.0)
- Signed Wi-Fi updates
- Works with the MeshCore app

On the air in a few minutes
No tools to download. You only need the pager, a USB-C cable and Chrome or Edge.
Flash it from your browser
Plug the pager in, click Install, pick its port. Your contacts are kept when you update.
Name your node
Pick how you appear to everyone else. The Inland Northwest radio preset is ready; any MeshCore settings work.
Message the mesh
Join a channel or message a contact. Repeaters on hills carry it for miles.
A full messenger on the device itself
Everything runs on the pager. The phone app is optional.
Channels, direct messages and rooms, with delivery ticks, retries, @mentions and emoji.
Map tiles from the SD card, with every node that shares its position drawn on top.
Log in to repeaters, read status and telemetry, trace routes and see which repeaters carried a message.
GPS and the screen power down when you're not looking, charging holds at 80%, and a saver kicks in when low.
Releases are signed and checked before installing, and your contacts and keys are left alone.
Tap a phone to share your contact or a channel, and pair with the MeshCore app over Bluetooth.
Five themes, top to bottom
Each one changes the colours, the lock-screen scene, the message sounds and even the charging icon.
Make your own

Terminal green, pines and a sasquatch walking the ridge.

Curtains of light over a dark ridge, with slow bell tones.

A blocky world under a pixel moon, with soft piano notes.

Night hills, a castle and hearts that track your battery.

The sasquatch in a new costume every time it wakes, with spooky little tunes.
No towers. Just radios passing it on.
You send
Your pager transmits a short, encrypted burst over LoRa radio. No SIM, no account.
Repeaters relay
Radios on hills hear it and pass it on once each, so it spreads across the region without looping.
It arrives
Miles away someone's pager buzzes, and replies find the quickest way back.
Which devices does it run on?
The LilyGo T-Lora Pager. The mesh itself is MeshCore, so you can talk to anyone on a MeshCore network, whatever device they use.
Does it cost anything?
No. Squatch Mesh is free and open source under GPL-3.0, and the mesh has no subscription or fees. You only need the pager.
Will I lose my contacts when I update?
No. Updates over Wi-Fi or from the website keep your contacts, channels, messages and settings. Only tick "erase device" in the installer if you mean to wipe everything.
Does it still work with the MeshCore phone app?
Yes. Pair it over Bluetooth like any MeshCore companion, and the phone and pager share the same contacts and settings.
Do I need a ham radio licence?
No. MeshCore uses unlicensed ISM radio bands, so no callsign is needed. Stay within your region's power limits.
What if something goes wrong while flashing?
Hold BOOT, tap RESET, release BOOT, and run First Install again. It writes everything the pager needs to start, even on a blank chip. See the install page.
